The ocean connects people & places all over the world. Not only does it regulate climate, produce oxygen and feed bodies all over the world, but human life on Earth would cease to exist without the ocean. That’s why it’s essential for us to conserve and protect it as best as we can.
During World Oceans Day on Wednesday, June 8 and throughout our everyday lives, we should dedicate our efforts toward ocean conservation. We don’t need to limit it to just one day, but instead we can use this day to propel action throughout the year.
If you’re looking for some ways to get involved that are equally fun and effective, look no further!
Here’s how you can put your best foot forward:
Volunteer In Your Community
Participate in a local beach or underwater cleanup in your area. Even if you aren’t in a coastal community, you can organize or partake in a river or lake cleanup as well!
Support Ocean Conservation
While we admire the ocean and all of its beauty, we also have to take strides to protect it. The most efficient way to do so is by supporting ocean-minded brands and non-profits.

Support Local, Sustainable Brands
It’s imperative to support your local neighbors and friends, but especially those in support of sustainable goods & products. Use https://goodonyou.eco/shop-local-good-on-you/ to locate local, eco-friendly brands you’re looking for.
“To create a healthy ocean with abundant wildlife and to stabilize the climate, it’s critical that at least 30% of our planet’s lands, waters, and ocean are protected by 2030 (30×30). As you make decisions leading up to the United Nations Biodiversity Summit (COP-15) in September, we encourage action!”
